Hello, everyone!
We've seen a lot of back-and-forth and confusion from people regarding the update we put out on Monday about the 15,000 AWARDED scholarships for PEP. Some parents have been told by others (or even by Step Up call centers) that the 15,000 was the total applications, not the total awarded.
So today, Brenda reached out to Step Up (to our direct contacts who are working directly with the PEP program at Step Up--not to a chat support or call center) to get clarification.
Here's what we were told:
As of 9/13/2023, there are:
15,097 PEP scholarships AWARDED
21,814 total PEP survey responses
According to our contact at Step Up, they are also planning to flip more students to PEP this week, so that awarded number might increase today through Monday.
This is the most accurate information we could get, directly from the source!
I hope this helps remove some of the confusion.
Update as of 9/19/23:
Step Up posted on their Facebook page yesterday, addressing those who received the Awarded email but have not yet been switched to FTCPEP in their system. See it here! https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=682804333881666&set=a.405367998291969
Step Up also started awarding funds, as of yesterday (9/18/23)! You can read more about this in yesterday's update post here: https://www.flhef.org/forum/pep-faq/update-9-18-2023-step-up-has-started-releasing-pep-funds
Any idea if there are still PEP scholarships available? I received an email about a week ago saying we are on a waitlist to make sure they don't overpromise spots.

Please tell me they are giving sibling priority? I have one kid switched to pep and one not yet switched.
Both were current fes EO reciepents and course did the pep specific portions at the same time.
