Are there any guidelines for how much parental supervision is necessary for home schooling of a 9th grade student?

There are probably two ways of answering your question. From the standpoint of the home education law, there are no  specific guidelines. The law reads:
(1 ) A "home education program" means the sequentially    progressive instruction of a student directed by his or her parent in order to satisfy the attendance requirements of ss. 1002.41, 1003.01(4), and 1003.21(1).

A parent needs to provide enough supervision to direct the student’s sequentially progressive instruction to satisfy the law. The amount of supervision will vary from family to family, child to child.

From a general parenting standpoint, every parent needs to provide adequate supervision for their minor children, appropriate to their age, maturity and abilities.

Homeschoolers do not have to keep the traditional school calendar or traditional school hours, so schedules can be very flexible.
